Events for Schools and Sixth Formers

At the GFMAT we are proud to have a close relationships with the University of Portsmouth, and are able to benefit from events and opportunities they offer for all age groups as part of their community outreach programme. Subject Taster Days

From 14th December onwards, Portsmouth will be running taster days in the following subjects: Business and Law; Humanities and Social Sciences; Criminology; and Creative and Cultural Industries. The University is working on ways to bring them back in-house, but for the time being they will be delivered virtually so are accessible to all. Next Steps Newsletter

Year 11 students can sign up to the Next Steps Newsletter to receive tips and guidance to help them prepare for exams and their next steps.


Y11 Transition Week

For our Year 11s, the transition to post-16 study means making big decisions. The key is to make sure you are prepared for all outcomes, and to understand the different routes available. From 7-11 December, the university will be providing a week of virtual student support activities to help you with your choices. This will include an online session with Nick Elston, one of the nation’s leading mental health speakers, and Baasit Siddiqui of Siddiqui Education and the popular TV show Gogglebox. There will also be workshops covering effective time management techniques and routes to level 3 qualifications. Further information be be available soon.
